This past Saturday, Pittsburgh’s cultural Glitterati entered into a dreamers oasis for an evening of glamor, magic and elegance. The whimsical 29th Pittsburgh Opera’s Maecenas Ball enchanted the patrons of the arts for a spectacular evening full of powerful performances, breathtaking fashions, and dramatic event design at the Opera Headquarters in the heart of the Strip District.
This Pittsburgh Opera closed out the opera season with “The Daughter of the Regiment”, which inspired the atmosphere and theme for this years’ anticipated Maecenas Gala. Paying homage to Europe’s country side this years theme: English Garden.
Located in the Strip District, The Pittsburgh Opera opened its doors to the collaboration of an A Team of Vendors. Led by the truly talented LUXE Creative with tremendous support from Hens and Chicks, this once-upon-a-time parking garage was transformed into an English garden. In place of where concrete and cars once were, laid a tiled dance floor as classic birdcages hung above. Trees were brought in to convey a lush green oasis and lighting was set to create the mood of romance.
Mosaic joined in the collaboration, providing lush linens for guests who felt they were dining “Al Fesco” in the British countryside. Linens included Champagne Sparkle Velvet, Slate Leiden, Chocolate Blueberry Taffeta Stripe and Federal Blue Remington.
