WARM METALLIC HUES ARE MAKING WAVES
Metallics have become ever more popular in event design in recent years. These hues can be used by themselves, or as accents for any color palette. Last year mixed metals became one of the hottest trends of 2017. And while we don’t see that changing this year, we are also seeing clients use warm metallic hues alone as they bring their vision to life. In this entry of our blog series, we will be focusing on these warm hues. Later in the series, we hope you will be inspired by our entry on cool toned metallics. So take note! No matter your take on metallics, you cannot go wrong this year by bringing them to the table.
OUR INTERPRETATION ON METALLICS: WAVES OF WARMTH
We have so many new warm toned metallic collections that we cannot select just one favorite! While some are subtly patterned with metallic hints, others are bold geometrics which command the stage. Weather looking for subtle ways to weave copper or gold into your décor, or looking to make big bold statements in rose gold or bronze, Mosaic will have you covered. With so many new fabrics to choose from, your mind will be racing with possibilities. Warm metallics for “The Win” in ‘18!
GET CREATIVE: 3 WAYS TO DESIGN WHEN BATHED IN WARM HUES
With so many possible applications of metallics in event design, you really cannot go wrong. We are always a fan of a tone-on-tone metallic color story. Set a foundation in copper or gold, and allow the florals to explode with color. You may even consider throwing some color into your metallic mix as well. We love adding cooler shades of blue or green to contrast the warmth and add an unexpected take on color in design. Check out a few of our favorite ways to design with transparent fabrics in the inspiration stories below.
Is there anything more sexy and sultry than being bathed in the glow of warm copper hues? We love our new Copper Square linen – big and bold. Paired with the soft pattern of the latest addition to our Static line, Mineral Static, no wonder we are all about this palette. Imagine a sea of romantic cream-colored flowers which can complete the look of this décor package. We cannot envision anything more romantic or divine!
ROSE GOLD RADIANCE
So we all know that rose gold became an obsession in the past year or two. That trend is still going strong, no surprise to us. Skin tones look radiant and people feel good when toasting the moment in a room bathed in blush and warm gold hues. What we love now, is new takes on this palette. Adding less expected colors like aqua or fern can really add an element of interest and create a cool vibe. Already designers are embracing the addition of color to this warm palette, and the new combos look crisp and current to our design team this year.
Golden tones will forever represent classic beauty. And while it no doubt has stood the test of time, in the event industry there will always be new interpretations of gold which look fresh and contemporary. Mixing yellow gold, white and rose gold will always be a classic (thanks in part to Cartier’s Trinity band which debuted in 1924). But we are now seeing designers return to yellow gold décor palettes on their own for the foundation of their work. Adding any color to the florals and other design components can looks sharp and sexy when bouncing off of a golden hued cloth. So, this season, whether interested in designs with soft romantic florals or big boldly hued and modern centerpieces, consider letting gold lead the way.
